Voice Teacher
Marinel Cruz is an Award winning Puerto Rican soprano, whose voice has resonated in some of the most important concert halls around the world. Notably, in her native Puerto Rico, Italy, Israel, New York City and Miami. Among her recent achievements, Ms Cruz was awarded first prize in the Miami Classical Singer Competition and appeared with the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra in Odessa, Ukraine.
Ms Cruz has been selected for several starting roles such as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni -with excellent reviews-, Suor Angelica in Suor Angelica, Micaela in Carmen, Mimi in Bohème, The mother in Amahl and the night visitors with Teatro Lírico del Oeste of Puerto Rico, Dido in Dido and Aeneas with the Opera workshop of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.
Previous milestones in Ms Cruz’s stellar career include: Recipient of the encouragement awards in the Metropolitan Opera District Auditions and first prize in the competition “Cantantes Jóvenes Líricos”. She received a Master’s degree in Music Performance at The Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College in New York and was a Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program Semi-Finalist.
Currently, the young soprano is student of the Professor Manny Perez and we welcome her as part of our staff at Kalos Music & Art School.
