The contest is open to students aged 8 to 16 who reside in or near South Florida and are interested in learning music or art at Kalos Music & Art School. This contest is held by the above mentioned music school and the non-profit organization Music in Miami.
To enter the contest, students must upload a video to YouTube showing their musical or artistic skills. The video can be of the student playing any instrument, singing, or painting. The video must be original, appropriate, and not infringe on any copyrights and must have parent approval.
The video must be between 30 seconds and 1 minute long. The video title must include the student’s first name, and the hashtag #KalosScholarshipContest. The student must then proceed to copy the share link from their YouTube video and include it, along with all requested information, in the following form: https://form.jotform.com/240426543617051 Additionally, at the end of the form, the student will be require to provide an answer of why they want to win the scholarship.
The student must have the authorization of their parent or guardian to enter the contest and to share their personal information. The parent or guardian must also sign a separate consent form that grants Kalos Music & Art School and Music in Miami the right to use the student’s video for promotional purposes, without further compensation or permission.
The submission deadline is March 31st, 2024. Only one entry per student is allowed. Submissions that do not meet the requirements will be disqualified.
The submissions will be judged by a panel of experts from Kalos Music & Art School and Music in Miami, based on the following criteria: creativity, originality, technical skill, and expression.
The winner will be announced on April 5th, 2024, via the Kalos Music & Art School and Music in Miami websites and social media platforms. The winner will also be notified by email or phone.
The prize is a one-year scholarship for music or art classes at Kalos Music & Art School, valued at $1,000. The scholarship is non-transferable and non-refundable. The winner must enroll in the classes by April 22nd, 2024, and complete them by April 22nd, 2025. The winner is responsible for any taxes, fees, or expenses associated with the prize.
Kalos Music & Art School and Music in Miami reserve the right to modify, cancel, or terminate the contest at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. Kalos Music & Art School and Music in Miami are also not liable for any errors, omissions, or technical issues that may affect the contest or the submissions.
The contest is governed by the laws of Florida and the United States. Any disputes arising from the contest will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Miami.
Video Specs: It must be in horizontal format, and both hands must be clearly visible during the performance. Image quality: Good lighting and high definition. Audio quality: No background noise and no echo. The interpretation must be recorded in a single continuous take; videos with multiple recording angles or cuts are not allowed. Maximum duration: 1 minute.
