Carlos Urribarrí

Guitarist, composer, producer, and artist.

Born in Maracaibo in December 1996, he hails from a family of musicians. He received his training at the Intervalo Academy and partially at the José Luis Paz Music Conservatory. At 18, he became a full-time guitar instructor at the Banco Central and Santa Lucía Nuclei, part of Venezuela’s National System of Orchestras.

Experience

To date, Urribarrí has released two studio albums as a guitarist. The first, titled ‘Templo de Agua’ (2022), was nominated in three categories in the jazz section of the Pepsi Music Awards. The second, titled ‘Centauro,’ was recently released on March 22, 2024, featuring renowned musicians like Munir Hossn, Adolfo Herrera, and Elvis Martínez.

Urribarrí began his career as a producer with the soundtracks for the plays ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Pinocchio,’ performed by the Niño Azul school and company in Maracaibo.

He is the producer at the recording and mixing studio ‘Trastiempo Studio.’ Among his recent works are the original soundtracks for the short films ‘Ayer será igual que mañana’ and ‘Tengo cinco días muerto,’ both directed by Omar Arteaga and premiered at international festivals. He has also recently been the mixing engineer for the album ‘Impronta’ by flutist Omar Acosta, produced by Miguel Siso, featuring prominent musicians like Jorge Pardo, Pedro Eustache, and Alexis Cárdenas. Additionally, he has been the mixing engineer, co-producer, and guitarist for the upcoming Lo Fi Jazz project by Eric Chacón, set to be released this year.

Currently, he serves as a professional advisor for the Spanish brand Tierra Audio, a pioneer in audio and music production.

He continues to work as a guitarist, producer, mixing and recording engineer, film music composer, and guitar teacher.
