Program Overview
Students will develop versatility across traditional
and experimental art forms, working in both 2D and
3D mediums. The program emphasizes foundational
skills and creative exploration.
Hi, I’m Ashley, a painter and visual artist based in Miami. I’m drawn to vibrant hues, bodies of water, animals, and the natural environment. My work focuses on capturing sentimental moments that help viewers feel connected, present, and emotionally engaged. My recent series, Waves of Serenity, exhibited at Florida Atlantic University’s Ritter Art Gallery, explores mindfulness, emotional resilience, and the healing qualities of the ocean. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the same institution.
In my own artistic practice, I explored a wide range of mediums including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, ceramics, and sculpture before focusing on painting as my primary medium.
As a teacher at Kalos Art and Music School, my goal is to make art approachable, expressive, and enjoyable for all students, especially young artists building confidence. I use clear, hands-on lessons to teach fundamentals such as color, composition, shading, and observation. Students will be encouraged to explore both 2D and 3D mediums including painting, drawing, pastels, markers, sculpture, and mixed media. My classroom is a supportive space where experimentation is encouraged and each student is guided to discover their own artistic voice.

WELCOME LETTER TO PARENTS
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the Mixed Media Art Program for ages 10–15. I am so excited to have your student joining this creative journey.
This program is designed to introduce students to a wide range of traditional art materials including drawing, painting, watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, marker, clay, and sculpture. Throughout the course, students will build foundational art skills while also developing confidence in their own creativity and personal expression.
My teaching approach focuses on making art accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for all skill levels. Each class is structured to balance guided instruction with hands-on exploration, allowing students to learn technical skills while still having space to experiment and create freely. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable trying new materials, making mistakes, and growing through the process.
We begin the program with approachable painting projects to help students feel successful right away, and gradually move into more advanced drawing, mixed media, and
sculpture-based work. This structure helps younger students build confidence early on while giving older students opportunities to be challenged and expand their skills.
By the end of the program, students will have completed a diverse body of work across multiple mediums and developed a stronger understanding of artistic fundamentals, as well as their own creative voice.
I look forward to working with your student and watching their creativity grow throughout this program. If you have any questions at any point, please feel free to reach out.
Warmly, Ashley Bentov
